In an art world where wood as a medium can be ancient and contemporary, artists have diversified the style, technique, function, and societal appreciation. “Knock on wood II’ is the second edition of its kind at Alexis Galleries. The gallery bores the responsibility to encourage such transformation in art style and to birth contemporaries even in ancient mediums.
“Knock on Wood II” is an exhibition of woodworks, the second edition of its kind. Knock on Wood II features Afeez Adetunji, Chukwuemeka Micheal Osisiego, Darlington A. Chukwumezie, Olatunde Taiwo David, and Osaro Luke. The artists had communicated their feelings and emotions through the same medium, a fusion of African art form, colour, motifs, and patterns with a contemporary art form.
With this outing, we have expanded our scope to include collaboration with NGO’s in curating, organising residency programmes, workshops as well as yearly exhibitions.
We are pleased to announce that the gallery will be partnering with Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria (DSFN). DSFN is a non-for-profit association of children with Down Syndrome, as well as their parents, guardians, care givers and other interested stakeholders, by donating part of the exhibition proceeds to its course.
As you come view the show, prepare to be inspired and experience the feelings that the works bequeaths and to also have a share the artist’s time and creativity.
